Oxygen Deprivation and Dice that Explode
OUR STORY

The Savage Cruise 2020 was brought to you by the Rocky Mountain Savages who are a large SW enthusiast group centered in Denver, Colorado.  Long-time member and Game Master Steve Kellison has been going on Gamer Adventure cruises with Travel Agent Kim Maita Smith for years and years and finally talked the RMS and PEG in to organizing a Savage Worlds cruise.  RMS Founder Chris Fuchs, Co-Manager Christopher Landauer, and Steve schemed for the better part of a year to bring it all together and were assisted mightily with logistics on-site by RMS members Dave Weiss and Dustin Hatchett (who also runs RMS-friendly events like WARP and HexaCon gaming conventions).

Our thanks to all the RMS members who joined us on the cruise, especially Amy and Neil Ikerd who sponsored our trademark.

Our eternal gratitude goes out to Pinnacle Entertainment Group for their years of friendship and encouragement and for the Cruise in particular their sponsorship and participation for so many great games run by Karl Keesler, Cheyenne Wright, Jodi Black, Clint Black, and Shane Hensley himself.

Thank you as well to Just Insert Imagination for sponsoring Game Master and Wiseguys author Eric Lamoureux to attend, his games were a highlight of the trip for many.

The Rocky Mountain Savages formed over 10 years ago when Chris Fuchs, Neal Hyde, and John Fiala decided that the Colorado tabletop gaming conventions needed more diversity and excitement in the games being offered. Savage Worlds was the obvious answer to that problem.

The RMS quickly grew in to the largest tabletop game-master corps in the known universe with the help of convention owners Bill Stilson and Matt Rowles and consummate game masters like Marc Gacy, R Kal Ringenbach, Darrell Hardy, Steve Kellison, Bruce Powell, Derek Johnson, Joe Thomas, David Garrett, Anne Reynolds, Chris and Sara Martinez, Ron and Veronica Blessing, Sean Patrick Fannon, Ross Watson, and many more.

A player and enthusiastic fan from the start, Christopher Landauer soon joined the leadership team by helping coordinate and organize the rapidly expanding group.

The Rocky Mountain Savages are known for events like their Friday Night Barfight
™, the largest Savage Saturday Night's around, and the famed #Savage100, where they hosted more than 100 tables of Savage Worlds at one convention.  With the launch of the SavageCruise, the RMS has also hosted the longest SW event over 9 days through 4 countries with gaming and adventures in New Orleans, Montego Bay Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel Mexico and at sea in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico.

The Rocky Mountain Savages are also the force behind the SavageCast podcast, the keepers of the SavagePedia, and SW-licensed publishers of the upcoming SWAT: Spells, Weapons and Tactics game.
